Karen from My Little Home and Garden each winter has a meme called Sunlit Sunday. I am so excited that she is doing it again this year. It is a little way to get some sunlight into the dreary winter we are having everywhere... cold and snow. If you would like to join, head over and check out what you need to do and bring a little Sunlight into Our Lives.
We haven't had much sunlight this winter as it has snowed every day... and I mean every day.... Snowed so much that the last I heard we have had a total of 170 inches so far. A couple of weeks ago we did get a little sun and the sunset was magnificent. I did take these pictures through my second story window on my phone.
Winter Sunset
I love the colour of the sky in this picture and the sun shining on the house that is in the background.

beautiful pictures. I especially like the second one.
ReplyDeleteHi Marly,
ReplyDeleteGreat selection for sunlit sunday photo. We have had a lot of snow as well. I almost have to get on a step ladder to take a picture.
Stunning sunset, the second photo would make a nice post card.
ReplyDeleteLove that sunset!! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteWow! You sure have had a lot of snow already this winter! But look at the fabulous photos you took!
ReplyDeleteI'm thrilled that you've decided to join in with Sunlit Sunday again this year, Marlys. I can't believe how much snow you have in your area. The second photo looks like the kind of card or painting one sees where the artist has added in more and more of the white stuff, beyond what nature would provide; yet, it is really that heavily laden on the trees and homes. It does make for a gorgeous photo. Thank you for bringing a winter sunset this week.

Both images are just lovely, but the second one is like a painting of a magical fairy village! That's a whole lot of snow. Very pretty, but I'll stick to the Gulf Coast where even we are going to near record lows this week. Let the sun shine! Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteDear Marlys, Your photos are lovely. I am learning how to take pictures too. The snow does look pretty. There is a lot of snow here too and very cold, though today is warming up a bit for a day or too.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year. Blessings, Catherine
The last photo is just gorgeous! It looks like a painting. Visiting from Sunlit Sunday
ReplyDeleteGosh looks like a Kinkade painting. Great photography. I am over from Karen's and plan to add you to my blog list. I am trying to make my photography better.
ReplyDeletebeautiful sunset photos ... visiting from Sunlit Sunday
ReplyDeleteYour photos are beautiful! xx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!!
ReplyDeleteHi Marlys, You sure do have a lot of snow!! I love these photos but the second one is just gorgeous and looks like a beautiful painting. Have a good week. Pamela
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful winter images Marlys - I can't believe there is so much snow!
ReplyDeleteI don't know how I would cope with that - as my friend Judith of Lavender Cottage says 'have your shovel ready'.
Sending you a pocket full of sunbeams to warm up your day!
Warm hugs
Shane in New Zealand
I see others have already said what I thought upon seeing the second photo - it looks like a beautiful painting. What a great shot. Staying indoors seems like a great idea during the cold you are experiencing.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!! Nothing beats the beauty of a fresh blanket of snow!
