Ginger Lemon Rooibos Tea

I go in streaks were I will drink lemon water in the morning before I do anything else.  It happens every once in awhile.  I would like to do it every morning but I don't always seem to remember.  I found a wonderful recipe for a cleansing lemon drink with a punch in Get Naked in the Kitchen by Briana Santoro.  This book has wonderful recipes in it and I love that they give a story behind each recipe.
Their lemon water also had chamomile tea in but I am not that taken with chamomile so I decided to use Rooibos Tea instead.  Rooibos has great health benefits to it too... It is caffeine free, it is loaded with antioxidants and improves circulation to name a few.  With the Rooibos Tea, I didn't have to add any sweetener.

Ginger Lemon Rooibos Tea

Ingredients:
Juice of 1/2 of juicy lemon (I measured about 1/8 cup of lemon juice).  I used Meyer Lemons
1 Twinning of London African Rooibos Red Tea
1/2 -1 tsp grated ginger ( the original recipe had 1/4 -1/2 tsp - I use close to 1 tsp)
1/8 tsp Sea Salt (I use Pink Himalayan Sea Salt)
1 small pinch Cayenne
1 tsp 100% pure maple syrup (I don't use)
1 cup (12ounces) warm/hot purified water or natural spring water (I used filtered water)

Directions:
Add lemon juice, grated ginger, Rooibos teabag to 1 cup hot water.  Steep for 5 minutes.  I filtered out ginger out of water.  Add Sea Salt and Cayenne.  Enjoy.

Cook's Note:
I even enjoyed this tea cold.. I always seem to leave some in the cup.
I reused the ginger and the teabag for a second cup and it worked fine.
