I use garlic in just about everything I make...

Well, not everything I don't use it when I making sweets,

But I think I put it into everything savory that I make.

This week I picked Salted Sugar Cookies from Mature Spring Chick. I love trying different flavours in the my sugar cookies and never would have in a million years thought of salt.  But I am sure they will taste marvelous and she has decorated them so nicely and they look so springy... My host favorite goes to Annie from Annie's Nom for her Easter M&M bark.

I love candy bark, it is simple to make and wonderful to eat.  You can use whatever candy you want. It is also perfect for any holiday ~ just use candy for that holiday or colours of the holiday.  I made some for Easter.  My plans was to give it to my nieces and nephews for the Easter gift but we didn't get together.  I used white and pink candy wafers for my bark and added Easter Egg M&M's and pretzels.  I always like something salty with my sweet candy.

Host Favorite

This week's host favorite goes to Amelia's Dessert for her Coconut rice and grilled pineapple with shrimps.  Rice is a staple ingredient in our house and making it with coconut milk will be wonderful.  I love how she started out this post ~ " Without rice, even the cleverest housewife cannot cook. - Chinese proverb".  I am not sure if you remember when I posted about my relearning how to make rice once I got married, but now after a few years I have it right... or at least I think I do.  I am planning on make this meal or something very similar for dinner tonight. I forgot to buy pineapple so my shrimp is going to have peaches instead but I think it will still taste good with the coconut rice. I will post my picture when I have one, but for now I will post Amelia's picture of this delicious looking meal.

This week my host favorite is from Lizy at Just Dip it in Chocolate for her Plantain Lasagna.   I love Lizy's blog, she has great recipes and her pictures are superb.  You will find yourself licking the screen when you see them... I just wish that you could taste them, they look so good.  I picked this recipe as I love plantains.  The first time I ate them was in Togo.  My husband has requested his father to plant many plantain plants on the land we bought there so that I can eat them all the time.  This recipe looks wonderful and I can't wait to try it.  Thanks Lizy, I would have never thought of using plantains instead of noodles.

This week's my host favorite goes to a new friend Mary from LoveFoodies for her Quick & Easy Tea Party Cherry Custard Pastries.  I did make them today but although they taste wonderfully they are not photo material... at least not as good as Mary's are.  I am going to try them again and I have an idea for a filling for Saint Patrick's Day... so keep watching.  Head over to Mary's blog she has some wonderful recipes and great pictures..
