Almost Wordless Wednesday ~ Elephants
When at any zoo, the first thing I need to do is check out the elephants. A couple of weeks ago I took my nieces to the Indianapolis Zoo and of course I had to check out the elephants.
On one trip that I made to Ghana, my husband and I took a trip to the northern part of the country to Mole Park... To see the elephants. I had done some research about the park and one of things that I read was that you can see them all over the park. Our rooms were just over the waterhole, so every morning we would watch the elephants come to the watering hole.. When I first saw where they came it reminded me of a children's book that I used to read to my nieces and nephew called The Watering Hole by Graeme Base.
Most mornings were very hazy...
We also took a walking safari with an armed guard. During this tour we found out that if you want to see an elephant close you need to be on a different level as them, either above or below. We were able to be about 50 meters away from the elephant. When I took this picture we were below the elephant.
