Fun, Sun and South Seas Island Resort

This past week two friends and myself headed off to Captiva Island, Florida to celebrate our 50th Birthdays. We were lucky enough to be able to spend it at South Seas Island Resort...  South Seas Island Resort is located on the shores of the Gulf of Mexico on Captiva Island.
I was given a discount on rooms for my honest review... All opinion are 100% mine.

Driving up to the gates of the South Seas Island Resort, rolling down our window to let them know we arrived, we were greeted by.....
Welcome! We have been waiting all day for your arrival!  Happy Birthday!
What a welcome that was, none of us expected that... We were handed a parking pass for our vehicle that said "VIP - Happy Birthday"  Yes, that is us... 3 tired girls from traveling all day... VIP's.  Even tired and disheveled... We felt like celebrities... What a welcome!

Gates to come into the South Seas Island Resort
First stop... Reception area where we were greeted at our car and  escorted up to the reception desk. I couldn't figure out how our greeter could know my name... Well, I will tell you a little secret.  I was out for a walk one morning passing the gate when someone new arrived and heard them call up to say that this person had arrived.  This personal touch of greeting me by name made me feel special and that I was invited into someone's home instead of a hotel.

The reception area was very beautiful and I loved all the flowers around the area.  They also had sayings around the top of each wall..

Next Stop.... Our Beach Villa.  The Beach Villa is more of a condo suite, ours had 2 bedrooms, one with a King Size bed and the other room had 2 twin size beds... Guess who got the King Size Bed?...  This room also had a private bathroom.  The villa also had a full size kitchen, dining room and sitting room. Each suite also comes with a coffee pot and coffee... so you are never without it...

The Beach Villa was a perfect spot to stay.  The rooms were clean and wonderful.  We loved having a sitting area as we were able to sit and visit in the evening.. read or use our electronic devices as there also was internet service available.   A perfect place to have a girl's weekend, family vacation or even a romantic getaway.

Another great part of this villa was the balcony.  I enjoyed having my morning coffee there and looking out at our view of  the Gulf, planning out our day's activities and visiting with my friends.

This is the first post of my vacation at South Seas Island Resort where you aren't just paying for a room but an experience of a life time... A wonderful place to bring your family, enjoy the private beaches, many amenities and a photographers paradise ( I took close to 1000 pictures over 3 days).

  4. It seems so lovely. Would love to get away and will keep this in mind when our daughter graduates in December from her college in Florida. Maybe we could all take a few days to celebrate there. :)
