Cranberry Apple Crumble Tart
A couple of months ago I received a rectangle tart tin in my Hamptons Lane Box. I have been wanting to make a tart since then. So, when Christmas came around I decided that an apple pie with cranberries would be perfect to make and take to work. As I was putting the tart together, I decided to add some caramel to it. This dessert turned out AWESOME! (or at least I thought so).
Ingredients:
2-3 apples sliced
1/4 cup cranberries sliced in half
1/8 cup caramel bits
1 tbsp butter cut in small pieces
2 tbsp Zulka Pure Morena Sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup butter softened
1 pie crust (bought or homemade)
Directions:
Preheat oven 350 degrees
Roll out pie crust very thin... approx 1/8 inch and place into tart pan.
Cut apples thin and spread over pie crust.
Cut cranberries in half and sprinkle over cranberries.
Mix sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg together and sprinkle over apples and cranberries.
Cut butter in small pieces and spread over apples and cranberries.
Spread caramel bits over cranberries and apples.
In small bowl add rolled oats, brown sugar. Using your fingers, mix the butter into to oats and brown sugar until it is crumbly. Spread over the top of the tart.
Place in oven and bake for 40-45 minutes until apples are soft.
Cool, cut into slices and serve cold or warm.
This dessert would also taste awesome
topped with ice cream and drizzled with caramel sauce..
Beautiful tin! This recipe sounds delicious.
