Salted Caramel Pumpkin Chocolate Latte

What does Salted Caramel, Maxwell House International Latte and Green Mountain Coffee - Pumpkin Spice have in common?   You guessed it... An AWESOME SUPBERB LATTE perfect for Autumn.

Salted Caramel Pumpkin Chocolate Latte

If you have been following me for any length of time, you know that I like to make specialty drinks. I very seldom drink coffee plain, I have to put some kind of creamer or syrup in it (which doesn't help the waistline at all).  One of my favorite thing to use as creamers is Maxwell House International Latte. They work perfect as a creamer and give your coffee a wonderful flavour.

While in Lansing last week I found Dark Mayan Chocolate from Maxwell House and it is perfect for this latte.  You can use any kind of chocolate in this recipe - hot chocolate, chocolate chips etc but I have found the Dark Mayan Chocolate to be my favorite (now just to be able to find it again).

Ingredients:
1 cup prepared Green Mountain Coffee - pumpkin spice
1 tbsp  Salted Caramel Syrup (recipe below) or Store bought Caramel Sauce
1/4 cup milk (I use skim milk)
1 tbsp Maxwell House International Latte - Dark Mayan Chocolate

Directions:
To froth milk, I have an Aroma Hot Froth X-Press and I add the milk and Dark Mayan Chocolate into the frother on the high setting with the cappuccino attachment.
As the milk is frothing prepare the Pumpkin Spice coffee in Keurig- Large setting.
Add Salted Caramel Syrup to the prepared Pumpkin Spice Coffee and stir until melted.
Pour frothed milk slowly into coffee.
Enjoy!

Cook's Notes:  If you don't have a keurig you can make Pumpkin Spice Coffee by brewing regular coffee with at least a tsp of pumpkin spice added to the grounds, or add the spices of cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger in the quantities to your taste.
If you don't have a frother you can always froth the milk in your blender or even try your mixer.

You can also make Homemade Pumpkin Syrup to add to your coffee.  I know I need to make some more for this Autumn season.

Salted Caramel Sauce
1 cup light brown sugar
1 cup heavy cream
3 tbsp butter
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla

Combine all ingredients into sauce pan except vanilla over medium heat, stirring occasionally.  Cook for 5 minutes, remove from head and add vanilla.  Stir and return to heat for another minute until thickened.
