Kid Friendly Recipe ~ Cherry Angel Food Cake

I am so excited to be able to help my niece Mariah into the blogging world.  She has become a great baker and cook.  Today I get to blog about her Cherry Angel Food Cake.  I got the easy part of taking her pictures as she bakes.

This recipe is kid friendly and can be made by most children of baking age with minimal assistance. Depending on the age of the child will depend on how much assistance you will need to give them.   They will be working with a hot oven, so will be to be watched when putting the cake in and out of the oven.
This recipe was found by Mariah's mother either on facebook or pinterest.  They have made it with many different flavours of pie filling but enjoy the cherry the most.

Cherry Angel Food Cake

Ingredients:
Duncan Hines Angel Food Cake Mix
20 oz No Sugar Added Cherry Pie Filling

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F

Assemble ingredients, mixing bowl, 9 X 13 pan, mixing spoon and spatula

In mixing bowl add cake mix and cherry pie filling.

Mix ingredients until well mixed.

Pour into 9 X 13 pan and level  with spatula

Run knife through cake and place in oven.
Please watch and supervise as your child places the cake in oven or place it there yourself.

Bake at 350 degrees for 38 minutes or until cake is firm.
Please watch and supervise your child as they take the cake out of the oven, the cake is very hot.  Or take the cake out of the oven yourself.

This cake is low in calories.
You can eat it as is or add homemade or store bought whip cream and a maraschino cherry.

Mariah can be found on facebook, twitter.
She is just starting out so please head over and give her some This and That love
