A little Sunlight in My Week

This has been quite a week, we started out with the blizzards of all blizzards, snow and high winds that lasted all weekend.

and even though it has been a week, we are still digging out.  I am not sure if I can handle anymore snow and I know that we have no more room to put snow in our yard.  We have had so far this year  270 inches of snow with 50 inches of that on the ground....

Hubby is trying his hardest to shovel the walk between our house and the neighbors..
It was completely snowed in and our snow blower decided to quit working this week too

To top everything off, I ended up getting sick this week and even called in sick for all my shifts.  I never call in sick, and spent the week just laying on the couch, coughing and sneezing and trying to decide if I should head to the doctors or not... I decided not and this illness has started to past.

I did spend some time reading my cookbooks and drinking tea
which even was better with the sun shining through the windows

I also made some bread.... used a mix but it smelled and tasted homemade and was easy using the bread maker.
If you want a chance to win some, head over to my review of this wonderful bread (US resident only).

This weekend we had Copper Dog going on, it started on Friday and then ending this afternoon.  I did ventured out even though it was downright cold and took some pictures.  Even with the sun shining brightly, it felt nasty out there.

  1. That is a lot of snow to move, Marlys. I wonder, when plowing, if you husband ever fantasizes about living in Africa again! I notice that even some of the dogsled teams (great collage, by the way) are wearing booties.

The bread looks very tasty, all lit up in the sun's spotlight. From the look of the cookbook cover design (on top of the stack), I think you may have been enjoying it for a number of years.

Here's hoping you feel completely well very soon. Thanks for participating in Sunlit Sunday.

  4. Marlys, you sure have a lot of snow there. It's been such a bad winter hasn't it? I love the mosaic of the Copper Dog with all the colours. Hopefully after this next week the weather will calm down a bit more. Thanks for popping by and I hope you are feeling better.
