M&M Candy Corn Cookie Bars to #fillthecookiejar

I can't believe that it has been a month ago since I was writing up my post for Fill the Cookie Jar. These months are passing by so quickly.  October is one of my favorite months.. I love all the autumn colours and the crispness in the air. It is also the month of Halloween.  I am not so much  a Halloween person but I love all the Halloween candy that have been floating around.  My favorite being Candy Corn.
I am not sure why I enjoy candy corn, maybe it is the colours of the candy as I love yellow and orange and since I found the M&M candy corn flavour... I have been in heaven... YUM! (don't tell anyone but I think I have already eaten two bags so far).. When Halloween was the theme for this month I knew that I would have to do something with candy corn. I also wanted to make a Jar Recipe so decided that this recipe would work good for both ideas...

I was planning on making cookies with this recipe but when I mixed it up, they just didn't want to hold together so I dumped the whole batch in a pan and made cookie bars and they were awesome, but then anything with candy corn have to be awesome right?

M&M Candy Corn Cookie Bars

Ingredients:
1 1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar (I used Zulka Morena Pure Cane Sugar)
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
2/3 cup chopped Candy Corn M&M
2/3 cup whole Candy Corn M&M
1/4 butter
1/4 cup oil (I used coconut oil)
1 egg
1/2 tsp vanilla

Directions:
In a mixing bowl, mix butter, oil, egg and vanilla until well blended.
Add all other ingredients and mix well.. you  could leave the M&Ms until the last and mix them in once the dough is all mixed.
My dough was very crumbly so I poured it into a 9 X 13 pan and patted the dough down evenly in the pan.
Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes, until toothpick comes out clean.
Cool, cut into bars and enjoy.

I will be sharing the free printables to do the jars soon...
Perfect to give as a gift.

Last Month I made Healthy Pumpkin Unbakes.
